Hi! I’m Jahnelle Garcia, a Nurse Practitioner and candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives – District 27.

 

Thirty-two of our 33 counties are federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas. Families face long waits for care, rural residents drive hours for basic services, and many areas have no local specialists at all. As a Nurse Practitioner working on the front lines every day, I see the toll: patients waiting months for specialists, providers burning out and leaving the state, and severe shortages in mental health and addiction treatment. New Mexico continues to rank near the bottom nationally for access to healthcare providers.

I'm running for the New Mexico House of Representatives in District 27 because we can't wait any longer. My vision is straightforward: recruit and retain doctors, specialists, and providers right here in New Mexico; expand rural healthcare access so your ZIP code doesn't determine the quality of care you receive; strengthen mental health and addiction services; support our healthcare workforce with the resources they need; cut down wait times; keep community clinics and rural hospitals strong; and expand telehealth and innovative solutions to reach every underserved community.
